Species
We have a number of remarkable animals available to hunt, ranging from free-range red stags in Central Otago to alpine chamois and tahr.
Our high-fence red stag hunts take place at our Foveran hunting park of 4,000 acres, near the small town of Kurow, between Omarama and Oamaru in the South Island.
The Foveran hunting park is also known as the Hunter Hills which was named after the abundance of game (mainly wild boar) that at one time roamed the hills, far outnumbering the domesticated stock. Daily hunts and culling were necessary to thin the numbers.
Today it is not just wild boar, but also a range of deer, tahr, chamois and goats, that provide for a wide variety of exciting hunts.
For the more adventurous types - we also offer free-range foot hunts for tahr, chamois and fallow deer.
